A workshop on citizen engagement in the implementation of public procurement contracts was held on October 3, 2021 in Rangpur.

Secretary, IMED, Ministry of Planning, Mr. Pradip Ranjan Chakraborty, was present as the Chief Guest at the workshop. Mr. Md. Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury, Director General, CPTU, IMED, Ministry of Planning presided over it.

Mr. Md. Abdul Wahab Bhuiyan, Divisional Commissioner, Rangpur, Mr. Md. Asib Ahsan, Deputy Commissioner, Rangpur, Mr. AWM Raihan Shah, Additional District Magistrate, Rangpur and Mr. Biplob Kumar Sarkar, SP, Rangpur were present as special guests.

Members of the local Citizen Monitoring Group, contractors, local government representatives and civil society members participated in the program.

In their speeches, the speakers highlighted various aspects of public procurement process.

During the open discussion session, various observations of the participants and citizens regarding public procurement contract implementation were discussed.
