Chief Executive Officer Of BPPA

Mr. Mohammed Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury, a national trainer of public procurement, took over as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) after the government issued a circular on his appointment on 28 November 2023.

Prior to this, he worked as the Director General of the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) since 1 March 2020.

With an aim of better service delivery and further improvement in public procurement environment in the country, the government has restructured the CPTU into BPPA.

On July 5, 2023, the Honorable Minister of Planning placed the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) Bill 2023 in the Jatiya Sangsad (national Parliament). After the Bill was passed on September 10, 2023, it received the assent of the Honorable President on September 18 and the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority Act 2023, was published for public information.

Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) has been established with the enactment of the Act.

An Additional Secretary (Grade-1) to the government of Bangladesh, Mr. Mohammed Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury worked as the General Manager (Planning & Development) of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) before his joining the CPTU.

He is a member of the 13th batch of the BCS Administration cadre.
