Title : IMED going for full digitization of project management information system

The Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) is going for full digitization of project management information system to have projects implemented in right time and right quality.

The journey started with the signing of 28-month contract on electronic project management information system (e-PMIS) at the Conference Room of IMED.

Dohatec New Media, Bangladesh, dotGOV Solutions LLC, USA, and Beximco IT Division, Bangladesh, signed the contract as a joint venture with CPTU for IMED under Digitizing Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPPP).

Director General of CPTU Mohammed Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury and representatives of consulting firms signed the contract on their respective sides.

Mr. Pradip Ranjan Chakraborty, Secretary, IMED, was present as the chief guest in the signing ceremony. The DG of CPTU presided over the programme organized on the occasion of the contract signing. Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Additional Secretary, IMED, and Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Senior Procurement Specialist, World Bank Bangladesh, were present as the special guests. DGs of all sectors of IMED including officials and consultants of CPTU attended the programme.

The Secretary said there was no debate in the CCGP for approval of this project. The IMED was established under the leadership of Bangabandhu. It has been making contribution to development since the birth of Bangladesh. The aim of IMED is to ensure quality of project implementation through the e-PMIS. It is now working in the IMED but for its design/update and adding new features, the new contract will be implemented.

The DG of CPTU said project implementation information can be taken from e-PMIS and analyzed to assess project performance. Policy makers can be informed of such performance. Project data and photos can be given to the e-PMIS by mobile phone. It will remain connected to e-GP system, national ID database, IBAS++, PPS and others.
