INFORMATION ON AWARD

| Brief Description of Contract |
: |
? Review and secondary data collection: Previous studies will be reviewed and data will be collected on the status of existing sanitation and drainage facilities, availability of community and public sanitation facilities, solid waste collection mechanisms etc. Socioeconomic data will be collected including population density, population trends, location of various facilities, development plans and zoning resolutions;
? Primary data collection: The assessment study will adopt a mix method (both quantitative and qualitative) with observations to collect relevant data from the area-wise respondents. Special software and server will be used through mobile devices (Tablet computer/Smartphones) for quantitative survey purpose, data management and preservation. Survey tools like household questionnaire, focus group discussions (FGD) and key informant interviews (KII) will be conducted with the target communities, Paurashava, service providers, and other key stakeholders. Geospatial data will also be collected for major roads and other related infrastructure and presented visually through maps.
? Central server and database: A centralized database server will be established in DPHE, with the ability to monitor real-time progress, along with geospatial and analytical results via a smart dashboard.
? Rapid assessment and presentation: A snapshot of the present situation of faecal sludge management and solid waste management will be provided indicating the need for FSM and SWM interventions, gaps and the alternative scope of interventions. The study will look into community-wide awareness of the need for FSM and SWM, preferences of technologies, willingness to pay / affordability and demand for services.
The City Corporation and Paurashava GIS based maps will also include layers of:
o City Corporation and Paurashava maps showing their boundaries, major roads and related infrastructure;
o Location of all the households surveyed;
o Available or feasible land for FS treatment plant, solid waste disposal site and space for solid waste transfer stations;
o Location of all the septic tanks of the household surveyed, the year of construction, tank volume and the number of users.
? Investment plans: Use the rapid assessment findings to prepare a conceptual investment plan for the City Corporations and Paurashavas which can be used for preparing investment projects.
