| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The study aims to assess community knowledge and the preparedness of healthcare facilities in delivering maternal health services across selected regions of Bangladesh. It will explore community awareness regarding maternal health, focusing on understanding and practices related to prenatal and postnatal care, awareness of available services, and the importance of timely medical intervention for pregnancy-related complications. Additionally, the study will evaluate facility readiness by examining the availability of maternal health services, including antenatal care, skilled birth attendance, and emergency obstetric care. It will assess infrastructure, staffing, diagnostic capacity, and medical supplies essential for quality service delivery, along with the effectiveness of referral systems for managing high-risk pregnancies. A mixed-method approach will be used, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques such as surveys and interviews with community members, healthcare workers, and facility administrators. The findings will inform policy recommendations aimed at enhancing maternal health outcomes. |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
To be selected, the organization MUST fulfill the following criteria:
• 10 years (or more) of working experience in conducting national-level health system assessments, public health research, or health service evaluations.
• Proven expertise in conducting national-level surveys.
• Prior involvement in research on Public Health /related fields.
• Proven ability to manage large datasets effectively.
• Expertise in using statistical software for data analysis.
• Strong capacity for producing policy-oriented reports with actionable recommendations in English.
Applicants meeting the following criteria shall receive SPECIAL CONSIDERATION in the selection process:
• Prior positive working experience with the Health Economics Unit.
• Demonstrated experience in health systems research focusing on health service delivery, workforce assessments, community assessment and resource distribution. |
