INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
(I) Identification, marking, assessment and quantification of Hazardous Materials on board.
(II) Providing technical assistance for temporary storage and management of hazardous materials.
(III) Providing technical support to the yard owner regarding safe and environment friendly disposal of Hazardous materials
(IV) Overseeing the disposal procedure of hazardous material on behalf Industries (MOIND) and submit report to MOIND in this regard.
(V) Preparation of Ship Recycling Facility Plan (SRFP) for the yard and unique Ship Recycling Plan (SRP) for each of the ship to be recycled according to the guidelines of MOIND and provisions of The Ship Breaking and Recycling Rules,2011.
(VI) Inspection of the ship at outer anchoress and prepared detailed report on waste inventory and waste management plan.
(VII) Other tasks and to be defined by the MOIND From time to time |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

(a) The key personnel of the Safety Agencies shall have necessary qualifications in Naval/Marine/Engineering /Chemistry /Applied Chemistry/Environmental Science or any other relevant subject. The shall have enough h knowledge and experience in handling, managing and disposing of hazardous materials in the relevant field.
(b) The Safety Agencies shall have at least one year work experience in the field of hazardous materials handling and occupational safety and health in any legal industry. Having experience in the Ship Breaking and Ship Recycling Industry will be treated as added qualification. |

Initially the contact shall remain for a period of 24 months and it may be extended further upon the successful completion of the assignments.
The Ministry of Industries has decided to appoint 02 (two) safety agencies and for which it now intends to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible Organizations for the aforesaid services.
Detailed Terms of Reference(TOR) will be available upon request from the office of the Deputy Secretary (Ship Recycling) , Room No. 507, Ministry of Industries, 91, Motijheel C/A.,Dhaka-1000. Phone+88-02-223358776, email:; dssrc@moind.gov.bd either through email or in person.
The Safety Agency will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Public Procurement Ac, 2006 and the Public Procurement Rules-2008.
