INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Provide technical and analytical support to Project Director and other technical members of PIU for civil
engineering design of the project. Specifically, the consultant shall assist the technical team of Project
Director in ensuring adequacy, appropriateness, soundness as well as optimality, at least cost, of the
designs developed by the Engineering Design Consultant related to civil works such as foundation
design, viaduct design, construction methodologies, etc. including the related documents (survey reports,
drawings and other reports) submitted by the Engineering Design consulting firm.
To ensure consistency and optimality of the overall detailed engineering design of the project, the
consultant shall work in close coordination with the other individual consultants including Railway
Specialist, Railway Systems Expert, Structure Specialist, and Tunnel Expert, to be engaged concurrently
by the DMTCL under the project |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
Bachelor's degree in, Civil Engineering or other relevant fields. Candidates having advanced academic
degree. i.e., Masters or PhD, or recognized professional qualifications in civil engineering/railway
engineering/geotechnical and/or soil engineering will be given preference. Have at least 20 years of
general experience out of which 15 years’ proven working experience in planning, designing and
implementing railway/road/tunnel projects which should include detailed geotechnical analysis and
design; |

DMTCL website (www.dmtcl.gov.bd) and in Project Office. EOI must be submitted electronically through the website of ADB (www.csrn.adb.org). |
