INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
(1) The Senior Structural Engineer (SSE) will provide expertise support and advice as a full-time member of the PIU, and will be responsible for guiding and advising the PIU so that the construction of structures is done as per the relevant drawings and design. The SSE will have a significant role in assuring the integrity, fairness, and overall quality of civil construction in conformance with the requirements of the approved drawings for the land ports as per BNBC and other national and international standards.
(2) The Senior Architect (SA) will provide expertise support and advice as a full-time member of the PIU, and will be responsible for guiding and advising the PIU so that the construction of structures are done as per the relevant architectural drawings and design. The SA will have a significant role in assuring the integrity, fairness, and overall quality of architectural plans and drawings for civil engineering structures in conformance with the requirements of the land ports as per BNBC and other national and international standards. |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

(1) Senior Structural Engineer
• BSc in Civil Engineering from any reputed university/institution. Masters’ degree in Structural Engineering from a renowned institution will be given preference.
• Should have valid membership in a recognized professional organization.
• Advanced training in Structural design is required.
• Conversant with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and experiences in green building design will be added advantages.
• At least fifteen (15) years of general experience out of which ten (10) years of specific experience in designing civil engineering structures.
• Experience in supervising of construction works will be given preference.
(2) Senior Architect
• Bachelor degree in Architecture from any reputed university/institution.
• Should have valid membership in a recognized professional organization.
• Advanced training in relevant field will be added advantage.
• Conversant with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) is required and experiences in green building design will be added advantages.
• At least twenty (20) years of general experience out of which fifteen (15) years of specific experience in architectural designing of civil engineering structures.
• Experience in supervising of construction works will be given extra competence.

Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1) now invites eligible applicants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Applicants are invited to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (complete CV with other details and expected remuneration).
The consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers - July [Revised November 2017, August 2018 & November 2020] (“Procurement Regulations”).
Interested applicants may obtain the Terms of Reference (TOR) from the office of the Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1) during office hours or download from the website brcp1.bsbk.gov.bd.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 [Revised November 2017, August 2018 & November 2020] (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) needs to be submitted (either through e-mail or in person or by mail) to the following address by 15:00 hours (BST) (GMT + 6:00) on or before October 14, 2021.
