| Brief Description of Assignment |

"Scope of Work
The Hardware and Network Specialist will be responsible to maintain Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and provide extended support to database administrator with resolving hardware related issues that ensure smooth operation of MIS System. Provide support through installing and configuring computer hardware, software system and network. The Specialist will support the agency for strengthening smooth operation of the MIS. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage IT Network physical and logical WAN/LAN design, implementation and support including response for IT services;
• Develop strategy that addresses tactical and strategic plans for the advancement of the network solutions within the enterprise;
• Manage capacity and performance standard/guidelines for the LAN/WAN;
• Response to highly complex and technical user service requests/inquiries that involve problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution;
• Ensure for 3rd level support to the network and infrastructure;
• Provide technical support to end users for their desktop, laptop, printer, scanner and wireless router;
• Ensure establishment of budgetary requirements of equipment and services;
• Ensure proper functionality of local area networks and connectivity with external networks;
• Manage all MoSW/DSS MIS hardware and equipment;
• Develop solutions to application problems and system administration issues;
• Coordinates with, and refer major issues to, any firms contracted for systems maintenance;
• Carry out any other task assigned by Project Authority and DSS."

"Qualifications & Experience
• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in ICT / CSE / CIS / EEE / ECE; or Master’s Degree in CS / CSE / EEE / ECE / IT / MIS;
• At least 5 years experience as Network and Hardware Engineer in reputed organization(s);
• Knowledge of IT, hardware and equipment maintenance requirements;
• Experience with development partner funded programs/projects;
• Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing) in English and Bengali."

"* DSS now invites eligible applicant(s) to indicate their interest in providing the services mentioned above. Interested Consultants need to provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. Applicants are required to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) comprising of a CV (including employment history with duties and responsibilities) [one hard copy and also a soft copy in CD (MS word format)], a recent passport size photograph and a forwarding letter describing briefly the reasons that the applicant considers him/her-self best suited to perform the assignment.
* The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraphs 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016” (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
* The duration of the services will be forty (40) months. However, the contract period may be increased or decreased based on project needs.
* Details Terms of Reference (TOR). CV Template and other information will be available upon request from the address provided below either through email or in person. ToR and CV Template are also available in DSS’s website (http://www.dss.gov.bd/).
* The consultant will be selected following the Selection of Individual Consultant method of the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016.
