INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• To work under the frame of the National Action Plan of AMR and under project authorities, on the design and implementation gaps of monitoring of use of antimicrobials and surveillance of resistance;
• Provide technical assistance for assessments and improvements of the veterinary reference laboratory, and network of laboratories for AMR surveillance programs;
• Provide technical assistance to prepare and submit AMR/AMU-related data and report as per the national, regional and global standards and requirements;
• Provide advice and technical assistance in the area of diagnostics and animal disease control technologies (e.g., rapid tests, vaccines) aiming at reducing the use of antimicrobials, and coordinate with surveillance laboratories of the DLS on research, training and analytical services;
• Participate to consultation meetings and workshops with stakeholders to address AMR in livestock;
• Prepare standard reporting documents quarterly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward;
• To promote awareness, knowledge generation and dissemination, capacity building within the DLS and the selected private enterprises on the livestock value chain and AMR control;

Educational Qualification:
Master degree in Animal Husbandry/ DVM/BSc Vet Science and AH/ Microbiology/ Biological Sciences. Candidates having PhD with extensive practical experience will get preference.
Technical and Functional Experience:
• At least 10 years of experience in the management and control of antimicrobial resistance in the livestock sector;
• Fifteen (15) years’ experience in relevant field will be added an advantage;
• Experience in the design and development of surveillance and monitoring;
• Knowledge of AMR international standards;
• Ability to present information and interact effectively with a large spectrum of different stakeholders;
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
