INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include to assist the PMU in the following:
• To promote the development of institutional partnerships, joint programmes and networks among stakeholders of livestock value chains;
• To support the strengthening of institutional capacities and policy frameworks in Bangladesh in the areas of livestock value chains, agribusiness, producer groups and markets;
• To support the processes of formulation, analysis and evaluation of public policies, strategies, approaches and instruments which promote agribusiness and value chain development.
• To participate in the design and implementation of a programme relating to agribusiness and value chain development, through productivity and innovation investment funds for dairy, goat/sheep, beef/cattle and poultry productivity enhancement;
• To contribute to implement the project activities as per the approved log frame and work plan to achieve the project outcomes;
• Any other activities related to value chain development;
Reporting: To prepare monthly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

Educational Qualification
Master degree in Agricultural Economics or other area that provides the necessary analytical and technical skills especially in agro enterprise development. Candidate having PhD with extensive field experience will get preference.
Technical and Functional Experience
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience and demonstrated knowledge and experience with small-medium scale farming technology and management practices and in agribusiness and value chain development for senior position.
• Fifteen (15) years’ experience in relevant filed will get preference.
• Strong understanding of private sector-led approaches to livestock market systems development
• Appropriate qualifications and/or experience in private sector development in agribusiness sectors
• Proven experience in extension programme design and management, and training programme design and management;
• Proven experience in capacity building and supporting the implementation of rural development projects;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
