INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• To provide technical oversight to, and lead the implementation of CSA activities in accordance with the project work plan as well as provision of guidance and training to the collaborating partners and national team deployed in the field;
• To contribute to the development and assessment of sub-grants and matching grants applications, possibly defining CSA criteria to be used for the selection process;
• To develop programs to increase awareness and adoption of CSA/ Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices, including CSA/ SLM handbooks, training materials suitable for awareness rising;
• To be responsible for the inclusion of climate change mitigation and adaption elements in training curriculum and training materials and to establish national CSA training program for the DLS upazila staff and extension workers in the project areas;
• In collaboration with the Livestock knowledge platform, to support the development of GHG emissions estimates for the livestock sector using IPCC Tier2 guidelines and participate in the improvement of national GHG inventories;
• To implement any other activities related to integrating CSA principles and practices for value chain development.
Reporting: To prepare monthly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

Educational Qualification:
Master’s degree in Animal Husbandry/Animal Nutrition/Agronomy with strong background of climate smart livestock production that provides the necessary analytical and technical skills. Candidates having PhD with extensive field experience will get preference.
Technical and Functional Experience
• A minimum of 10 (ten) years practical experience in the field of animal production, including experience in climate smart livestock production;
• Candidates having 20 (twenty) years’ experience in relevant field will get preference;
• Appropriate qualifications and/or experience in CSA farm management, extension, or rural development;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with small- medium scale animal farming technology and management practices and in agribusiness and value chain development;
• Proven experience in extension programme design and management, and training programme design and management;
• Proven experience in capacity building and supporting the implementation of rural development projects;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
