INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• Implement the project activities as per the approved log frame and work plan to achieve the project outcomes;
• Provide technical assistance/participate in animal reproductive health management in food animals;
• Provide technical assistance for assessments and improvements of the veterinary reference laboratory, in support to animal reproductive health;
• Provide technical assistance and lead mentoring efforts to build national and regional capacity in animal reproductive health laboratories;
• Provide technical assistance to prepare and submit reproductive health related data and report to DLS;
• Plan, organize and conduct consultation meetings and workshops with stakeholders to enhance livestock reproductive health and to optimize animal reproductive health resource utilization;
• Any other activities related to dairy and meat value chains development
• Prepare regular reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

Educational Qualification:
Master degree in Veterinary Sciences or Animal Production Sciences, with specialization in Animal Reproductive Health or other area that provides the necessary technical and analytical skills required for the position
Technical and Functional Experience:
• A minimum of 10 years practical experience in the field of animal reproductive health comprising, if possible, both technical research, writing of policy reports and support to multilateral or regional processes.
• Candidate having 15 (fifteen) years’ experience in relevant field will get preference.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of working with national and international animal reproductive health agencies dealing with epidemic disease management; strong understanding of the working relationships and factors affecting co-operation in formulating and delivery of activities.
• Proven experience in capacity building and supporting the implementation of rural development projects, including the mentoring of project implementation staff.
