INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties of Training and Extension Expert include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• To implement the project activities pertaining to human resources development, training and extension activities as per the approved log frame and work plan to achieve the project outcomes;
• To organize and initiate the implementation of the HRD Plan with DLS and sector stakeholders in terms of trainings, capacity development activities and strengthening extensions services and its providers;
• To organize and initiate a review of the education system’s professional and vocational training for livestock and dairy and meat value chain development in collaboration with the established training/education institutions;
• To coordinate with other project teams and firms involved in developing appropriate training plan and modality;
• To maintain training database across project areas for effective monitoring and follow up;
• Reporting: to prepare monthly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

Educational Qualification:
Master’s degree in animal Husbandry/
Social Sciences
Technical and Functional Experience:
• At least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in human resources management, including the management of organizational reviews and assessments. Twenty (20) years’ experience in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
• The ability to interact and articulate at senior management level with government and non-governmental actors on strategies, implementation plans and resource allocation;
• Proven experience in organizing training and capacity building related activities preferably in the areas of agriculture/livestock sectors;
• Proven knowledge and experience of developing training plans and programs and development of training resources and materials;
• Ability to present information and interact effectively with a large spectrum of different stakeholders;
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
