INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) have a regional office complex at Fauzdarhat,
Chattogram (22.3846195N, 91.7651132E) very adjacent to costal area. KGDCL authority has taken a
decision to construct new officeand laboratory building after removal of aged and damaged existing
buildings. The proposed new office building is planned to be 6 storied with 10 storied base and around
8000 square feet floor area in each floor, the proposed Lab building will be around 8000 square feet floor
space (Present Lab building need to be removed phase wise as per direction of KGDCL) and
the proposed 2 storied store building of total around 12000 square feet floor space.
The Consultancy Services for the proposed aforesaidconstruction project
shall have the following salient features (Detailed given in TOR):
a) Pre construction phase:
i) Conducting detailed digital land survey and mapping of the site.
ii) Preparing Master plan.
iii) Conducting Geo-technical sub-soil investigation for structural foundation design.
iv) Preparation of architectural drawings.
v) Preparation of detailed shore piling, structural, foundation, architectural working drawings.
vi) Preparation of sanitary, plumbing, drainage, water supply & sewerage system designs.
vii) Preparation of electrical, mechanical, firefighting, IT network & Telephonic network,
security & surveillance system design.
viii) Preparation of computer rendered realistic perspective views of the buildings.
ix) Preparation of Specifications for quality control of materials and safe construction
procedure.
x) Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with material specifications and standards.
xi) Preparation of cost estimate and tender document etc.
b) Construction phase: Full-time supervision.
c) Post construction phase: Preparation of work completion certificate and Project Completion Report
(PCR).
It is to be noted that Consultant's all design related documents need to be review & vetted by Civil
department of BUET.
The EOI document will be available in the website of KGDCL(www.kgdcl.gov.bd). Interested
consulting firm may download the Terms of Reference (TOR) and “Expression of Interest Forms” from
KGDCL website with details.

The applicant should have experience as below:
The applicant should have satisfactorily completed similar works during the last 10 (Ten) years ending
last day of the month prior to the one in which the EOI has been invited as under:
Two similar works pertaining to Construction of 10 storied pile foundation (with basement
floor) building having minimum 40,000 square feet total floor space in each building in any city
corporation of Bangladesh.
Similar works shall mean providing of consultancy services for architectural & structural design of
multistoried building with pile foundation& basement floor.
Interested firms have to provide following information indicating that they are qualified to perform the
services-
i) Brochures of consulting firm summarizing their facilities and areas of expertise.
ii) Description of similar assignments, experiences.
iii) Availability of appropriate experience and professional qualifications among applicant's
staff, adequate resources and financial capability to carry out the assignment.
For non-compliance of above requirements, the EOI shall be considered as non-responsive.

The expression of interest must comprise the following:
i) Covering letter
ii) Company profile with registration and age of firm.
iii) Supporting documents of qualification experience of two similar works.
iv) Bank solvency certificate
v) Availability of appropriate skilled staffs list of relevant professional, their qualification and experience.
vi) Copy of up to date trade license
vii) Copy of TIN certificate
viii) Copy of VAT certificate
ix) Audit report/ Turnover report for last 3 years.
Only short-listed consulting firm will be called to participate in the request for proposal (RFP).
Interested consulting firm will be required to submit the EOI (3 copies) one (01) Original, Two(2) copies
in closed envelop marked with “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR SELECTION OF
CONSULTING FIRM” working day (Sunday to Thursday) between 0900 and 1500 hrs. (BST) at
Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited, Head Office (7th floor), 137/A, CDA Avenue,
Sholashahar, Chattogram, Bangladesh before the EOI closing date & time with soft copy in CD-Rom.
Any application submitted later than the specific date and time or submitted through e-mail/fax will not
be entertained.
