Title : CPTU, IMED participate in Digital Innovation Fair 2010
Description : March 07, 2010 The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) and the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) jointly took part in the three-day Digital Innovation Fair 2010 at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre in the capital city from March 04 up to March 06, 2010. On the first floor of the Novo theatre, the IMED stall was set up beside that of the Planning Division. IMED Director (Coordination) Sayeedul Haque coordinated the raising of the stall and subsequent activities. Mohamed A Mansur, e-GP national Consultant, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, System Analyst and Mohammad Asadul Hoque, Programmer of CPTU, and Mohammad Moshiur Rahman, Programmer of IMED, explained the electronic services of both CPTU and IMED to the visitors. CPTU is a permanent unit under the IMED of the Ministry of Planning. The CPTU is implementing the Public Procurement Reform Project –II (PPRP-II) supported by the World Bank. At the stall, the e-GP process and diagram was displayed. Also other activities of public procurement through the means of ICT were on display. The stall created much interest and drew a large number of visitors over the three days. They wanted to know how the IMED monitors and evaluates the projects under ADP, and how CPTU is working to monitor the implementation of the Public Procurement Act and the Public Procurement Rules. Minister for Planning Air- Vice Marshal (rtd) AK Khodker, IMED Secretary Md Abdul Malek, DG CPTU Amulya Kumar Debnath and UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Renata Lok Dessallien also visited the stall. Ms Renata expressed her keen interest in knowing the details of e-GP and other aspects of public procurement at the IMED stall.
