Title : Enhanced CPTU website Opens
Description : February 09, 2010 The enhanced website of the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) under the Public Procurement Reform Project-II (PPRP-II) supported by World Bank was launched on February 09, 2010 at the Conference Room of the IME Division at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at 2:00 pm. The Minister for Planning Air Vice- Marshal (rtd) AK Khandker inaugurated the enhanced website. The CPTU website (www.cptu.gov.bd) was launched in a limited scale in 2003. Considering the importance of the website in the context of the Public Procurement Act-2006 and the Public Procurement Rules 2008 and their amendment in 2009, the website has been enhanced in terms of its content, size and quality for public use. Secretary of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division Md Abdul Malek, Director General of CPTU Amulya Kumar Debnath, Lead Procurement Specialist of World Bank Dhaka office, and other officials of CPTU, IMED and Ministry of Planning were present on the occasion. The enhanced website ensures wider access and availability of updated procurement related information for procuring entities, tenderers and other stakeholders. It will save time, resources and make the process of getting procurement advertisements easily on line. The number of Key Performance Indicators has been raised to 45 for compliance with the changes made to PPA-2006 and PPR-2008. CPTU will have a quarterly newsletter shortly which will be online and also in print. It will also develop educative documents and brochures which will be put on the website. Also, the Public Private Stakeholders Committee (PPSC) will have a publication. Answers to FAQs have been raised and these will facilitate the users in understanding and finding solutions by themselves.
