The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) signed a contract with Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services (MIDAS) on July 30, 2018 for translation of a number of Standard Tender Documents (STDs) into Bangla from English and the Public Procurement Act 2006 and the Public Procurement Rules 2008 (with all amendments) into English from Bangla.

Director General of CPTU and Additional Secretary Md Faruque Hossain and Managing Director of MIDAS Dr. A.S.M Mashi-ur-Rahman signed the contract at CPTU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the 5-month contract MIDAS will translate 10 STDs from English into Bangla. The Code No. of the STDs are PG1, PG2, PG3, PG5A, SAFE-A, PW1, PW2A, PW2B, PW3 and SAFE-B.

It will also translate PPA-2006 and the PPR-2008 into English from the existing Bangla versions.

The DG, CPTU said that gradually CPTU would translate other STDs and policy documents relating to public procurement into Bangla for easier understanding of the major stakeholders.
