As part of steps to build capacity of tenderers on electronic government procurement (e-GP) across country, the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), Ministry of Planning, is going to start training for tenderers at the district level from February 12, 2017.
On behalf of CPTU, the one-day e-GP training will be arranged and conducted by Dohatec New Media at the local labs of procuring agencies like LGED, RHD, BREB, BWDB, PWD, DPHE, BPDB and Education Engineering Department. The training will start from Thakurgaon district.
A joint meeting between CPTU, representatives of the above agencies and Dohatec was held on January 24, 2017 in connection with the e-GP training for tenderers at local level in the conference room of CPTU with its Director General and Additional Secretary Md Faruque Hossain in the chair.
Director (Coordination) and Joint Secretary Md Helal Uddin, Director (e-GP) Md Aziz Taher Khan, System Analyst Md Mosharraf Hossain and Assistant Maintenance Engineer of CPTU were present on the occasion.
The Director (e-GP) informed the meeting that under the plan about 2000 tenderers covering representation from almost all districts would be provided the one-day training.
The meeting resolved that the registered tenderers would be informed of the training through their e-mails and sms district–wise and they would contact the above agencies which would finally provide names of the trainees.
The agencies will notify tenderers about the training through their website notices and press advertisements on this will also be published.
It was decided in the meeting that the local labs of the procuring agencies will be used for the training and at least one resource person from the target agencies will be engaged in each training session.
The Dohatec will arrange all logistics and resource persons on e-GP for the training and also venues in those districts where labs of procuring agencies are not available.
The DG, CPTU said that CPTU may increase the number of the tenderers for this training which needs to be completed by May this year. He said more training for the larger section of tenderers are also in the plan of CPTU.
The e-GP training will be provided under the auspices of the PPRP-II which has four target agencies---LGED, BREB, RHD and BWDB.
Such agencies under the project and on their own have also provided e-GP training at their regional office labs and in Dhaka to a number of registered tenderers. CPTU has also provided e-GP training to procuring entities and it is now going on. |
