Title : IMED stall in Digital World 2016 draws attention of visitors
Description : As many as 4418 visitors went round the stall set up by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), Ministry of Planning, at the Digital World 2016 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) during 19-21 October 2016 in Dhaka. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair at 11:30 am on October 19, 2016. The digital fair concluded at 8pm on October 21, 2016. The stall number 31 in Hall-2 of IMED displayed its functions and activities digitally. Additional Secretary, Administration, IMED, A K M Badrul Majid, along with Director General of CPTU, Md Faruque Hossain, led and coordinated the preparation, arrangement and duties at the stall. Both of them also attended visitors at the stall. IMED and CPTU officials and staff members worked for briefing at the stall that drew attention of visitors. The visitors inquired about operation system of e-GP, e-tender and mobile app of CPTU. They also wanted to know about IMED functions and activities. A brochure about IMED and its functions were displayed and distributed among the visitors. After visiting the stall some private entrepreneurs called DG, CPTU on phone to know about e-GP and they also came to CPTU for detailed updates. Spot registration for tenderers in electronic government procurement (e-GP) system was also arranged at the stall by Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), of IMED. The IMED website and e-GP website (www.eprocure.gov.bd), their operations and functions and public procurement mobile app introduced by CPTU were also displayed there for visitors. To help visitors understand all such issues, officers and staff of IMED and CPTU were present at the stall. The fair remained open every day from 10am to 8pm since its opening. Video documentaries on e-GP and the e-GP theme song were played through LED TV at the IMED stall. Bangladesh Centre for Communication Programs (BCCP) decorated and managed the stall on behalf of IMED. A signature book with comment options was kept there and visitors put their sign after visiting the stall beside another stall of the Ministry of Planning.
