The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA), Mr. S.M. Moin Uddin Ahmed, inaugurated the training at a Dohatec center in Gulshan, Dhaka. Director (Deputy Secretary) of BPPA, Mr. Shaikh Muhammad Refat Ali was also present. Dohatec is serving as a consultant to BPPA, providing e-GP training to stakeholders involved in public procurement. The ongoing e-GP training, which will continue until December 2025, is designed for different categories, including:
This training initiative is part of the broader effort to digitize the public procurement process, aimed at ensuring greater efficiency, transparency and accountability. During the inauguration, the BPPA CEO addressed the tenderers, emphasizing their vital role in upholding transparency, accountability, and value for money in public procurement. He remarked: "Tenderers play a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and value for money in the public procurement process. It is essential for everyone to have a comprehensive understanding of the procurement law and rules. While it is natural for tenderers to earn profit, it is crucial that this profit is earned ethically and within the bounds of the law." Mr. Moin also shared that following amendments to the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2006, the e-GP system has now been made mandatory. Once the amendments to the Public Procurement Rules (PPR) 2008 are approved, manual tendering will be phased out. He emphasized the importance of training to improve proficiency in the e-GP process, including registration and tender submission. Under this initiative, a total of 2,600 registered tenderers will be trained. Given the large number of registered tenderers, BPPA will provide resources for association- or institution-based training sessions. The CEO further announced that feedback will be collected from participants after the training to evaluate its effectiveness and identify any areas for further improvement. Additionally, he urged participants to submit their views on the proposed amendments to the Public Procurement Rules (PPR) 2008 by 18 August 2025 via email through the BPPA website. He reassured attendees that all feedback would be carefully reviewed and necessary actions would be taken as required. For participation in the training, please contact:
