Title : Introductory online training course on public procurement launched

An introductory online training program on public procurement has been launched for the public procurement professionals from various government entities, project managers and procurement personnel from investment and technical cooperation projects, procurement trainers, new comers in the field of procurement and recent university graduates. Mr. Pradip Ranjan Chakraborty, Secretary, Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Ministry of Planning inaugurated the program of training on 22 December 2020.

 

The inaugural ceremony of the training organized in collaboration with ITC-ILO under the Digitizing Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPPP) was presided over by the Director General of Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) Mr. Md. Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury.

 

Mr. Richard Lorenz, Team Leader, DIMAPPP-CDP, ITCILO highlighted various aspects of the training at the event moderated by Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, Component Direct, DIMAPPP-CDP, CPTU. Ms. Maria Vittoria Franceschelli of ITCILO made a  presentation on the online training program.

Through this training, the participants will get basic ideas and knowledge on legislative, regulatory, organizational and managerial foundation of the modern public procurement system in Bangladesh, with a focus on low value procurement. Participants will have to pass the final examination in order to get online certificate and access to the bigger training offered under the DIMAPPP.
