Description | : | A five-day training on public procurement procedures and practices organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) began at its Training Room in Dhaka on 26 November 2019. National trainers and officers of CPTU who are expert in public procurement are the resource persons in the training. The Chairman of ACC, Mr. Iqbal Mahmud, opened the training as the Chief Guest on 26 November 2019. Additional Secretary and Director General of CPTU Mr. Md. Ali Noor, was present as the Special Guest at the inaugural session. Director (Training and Coordination) of CPTU and national trainer Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury delivered the Address of Welcome and also conducted training on the first day. On the second day Director (Rules) of CPTU Mr. Masud Akhter Khan and Deputy Director Mr. Md. Mahfuzar Rahman conducted training. The ACC Chairman in his inaugural speech extended his thanks to CPTU for cooperating with ACC by providing the resource persons in the training. He said ensuring transparency and accountability is very important as a major portion of the national budget is spent on public procurement. The officers of ACC need to have ideas on the subject as it works to ensure transparency on all fronts. The DG CPTU said the CPTU works for ensuring best utilization of public money which is spent on public procurement. It is under the mandate of CPTU to provide training to those who are associated with public procurement. He thanked the ACC for coming forward with such an arrangement for training on public procurement. |
