Title : Workshop on formulation of CPTU social media strategy

The CPTU conducted a participatory workshop with tenderers, representatives of procuring agencies, media, civil society and experts to formulate a strategy for the use of social media like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Linked-In etc. on public procurement issues.   

The Dnet, which has been working as a consultant to carry out the assignment, managed the workshop at CPTU conference room on 2 September 2019.

Additional Secretary and Director General of CPTU Mr. Md Ali Noor presided over the workshop. Lead Procurement Specialist of World Bank Dr. Zafrul Islam was present as the Special Guest. Director (Training and Coordination) Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury moderated it.

The participants laid emphasis on telling the benefits of citizens from public procurement in various posts on the CPTU social media. Security, sensitivity and simplicity are some other areas they focused on during the question-answer session.

Digital media expert Ayman Sadiq, Assistant professor of North South University Dr. Zulkarin Jahangir and Naomi of Ujjiban Project shared their experiences in social media use.

They explained how citizen-centric social media engagement can be made effective.
