The one-day orientation workshop for the mayors and councilors of the municipalities started at the National Institute of Local Government (NILG) at Agargaon in the city on November 30, 2011.
The NILG organized the workshop as part of a contract signed with the Central procurement technical Unit (CPTU) under the Public Procurement Reform project-II supported by the World Bank.
A total of 28 participants from five municipalities took part in it. Director General of NILG Kabir Md Ashraf Alam,ndc, inaugurated the orientation workshop. Director of CPTU Kazi Jahangir Alam spoke on the occasion. Other officials of NILG were also present on the occasion.
The NILG is supposed to organize 20 such workshops for providing orientation to the mayors, councilors of the city corporations and municipalities of the country. |
