Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The primary objective of bridge inspection is to enter detailed inventory of bridge elements as well as Inspection for the condition of all the bridge elements. Finding out the physical condition of the bridge elements and detection of any defects of the bridges at early stage that may affect safety of the users and bridge structures and to make the traffic flow smooth and comfortable by completing the required maintenance work. Another objective is to monitor development of the defects on the bridge continuously so that timely remedial measures can be taken to prolong the life of the bridge. In addition, the results collected from the inspection can be used to develop inspection and maintenance program, to carry out load capacity assessment, and to provide feedback to the design process.
The Consultants services will be commenced on around November 2024 and continue upto about 6 (six) months. The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) and soft copy of Prescribed Format for Submission of Expression of Interest for the assignment can be obtained from www.lged.gov.bd or can be obtained at the address given below. |

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:
(a) General experience of the Firm(s);
(b) Experience in similar projects of compatible size, complexity and technical specialty in the required area;
(c) Financial soundness of the firm; and
(d) Staffing and logistics of the firm.
Consultants are requested to submit the following supporting documents in support of the above-mentioned criteria:
(a) Registration paper of the firm(s); (b) VAT registration, (c) Tax Identification Number (TIN), (d) Valid Trade Licenses, (e) JV agreement/letter of intent (if applicable); (f) Firm’s brochure; (g) Audited financial reports for last three years; (h) service experience record (including nature, total cost, total input in terms of man month, employer, location of service etc.). Key Experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage.
Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, but should indicate clearly whether the association is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub-consultancy. In the case of a joint venture, all the partners in the joint venture shall be jointly and separately liable for the entire contract, if selected. It is preferable to limit the maximum number of firms will be 03 (three) in an association including the Lead Firm.
If one firm is interested to submit Expression of Interest (EoI) for more than one packages, separate expression of interests should be submitted. Otherwise, the application will be rejected. However, a shortlisted consulting firm either individual or joint venture will not be awarded for more than four proposals. If one firm(s) is eligible for more than 4 (four) packages, the firms will be awarded according to the serial no. of packages mentioned in REOI.
