Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The main objective of the study on the TRIPS exemptions is to assess the implications of the two TRIPS exemptions, and to identify specific actions and way forwards to minimize those impacts. |
Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
The interested consulting firm should provide evidence demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experiences to perform the services.
• It shall have the legal capacity to enter into the contract with minimum 05 (Five) years of general experience in providing consulting/research/study services out of which at least 03 (Three) years of experience in research/study for public sector;
• Evidences of experience of conducting at least 02 similar study in the field of trade and economic researches over the period of 05 years to the government;
• Reputation of an international standing in the delivery of credible analytical report;
• Established, or the ability to establish, a sound working relationship with the Government of Bangladesh based on principles of client-focus, responsiveness and flexibility; with at least two previous policy assignments with Government clients;
• The required average annual turnover of the consulting firm shall be at least of the amount of Tk. 50 (fifty) Lac for the last three years;
• Undertaking that the firm has not been blacklisted or debarred by any Government Organization or by Development Partners;
• List of key professional staff including proposed core team for the assignment, showing qualification and experience including the projects/assignment on which they have worked, their role in the assignment/project and duration of their engagement with the assignment/project;
Required Documents: Company Registration, Up-to date Trade License, Income Tax and VAT Registration Certificate; Audited Financial statement (last 03 Years) and Bank solvency certificate; Company Brochure and service experience record (including nature, total cost, total input in terms of man month, employer, location of service etc.

Expected term of contract is 04 months. The expected date of commencement is 1st February, 2020 and completion 30 May, 2020. The consulting firm shall submit 2 (two) copies of Expression of Interest (EOI) (One original and one copy) and one soft copy (in MS word) in sealed envelope; clearly marked “EOI for Study on Assessing Impacts on Intellectual Propriety Regime and Pharmaceutical Industry After Graduation of Bangladesh” to the Project Director (Joint Secretary), Support to Bangladesh’s Smooth and Sustainable Graduation from LDC Status Project on or before 21/11/2019 up to 2.00 pm.
